Jerry joined BJC HealthCare in the role of Vice President, Information Systems, for Barnes-Jewish Hospital in April 2007.  In this role, he was responsible for developing information technology (IT) strategic plans and managing large-scale IT implementations. In August 2008, Jerry was promoted to the position of Vice President, Information Services, Academic Hospitals and Washington University School of Medicine Integration for BJC HealthCare.  In this role, Jerry oversaw the alignment and improvement of IT throughout Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH), Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWCH) and St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH), in partnership with Washington University School of Medicine.  In October 2013, Jerry’s responsibilities were expanded to include IT oversight for the remaining BJC hospitals, the BJC Medical Group physician practice, and Behavioral Health and Home Health locations.

Jerry has 33 years of experience in the information technology field.  He began his career at BJC HealthCare after serving as Information Technology Vice President and CIO for Houston Methodist in the Texas Medical Center where he worked for 15 years.  Jerry began his career in healthcare at Houston Methodist in a technical specialist role, and eventually assumed management positions over specific information technology areas; including security services, network support, and ancillary system technical support.  He became an executive over the information technology organization in the summer of 2001.  This was a result of his successful oversight / recovery of the telecommunication and information systems following a flood that closed the hospital for eight weeks.  Prior to healthcare, Jerry worked the technical aspects of information technology in the banking, insurance, natural gas, and transportation industries.

Jerry received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Bowling Green State University – Bowling Green, Ohio.  He holds a Master of Science degree in Human Services from Capella University.  Jerry is a member of the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
