This past week, Angie Bass, CEO & President of Missouri Health Connection (MHC), attended the Strategic Health Information Exchange Collaborative (SHIEC) Annual Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia. Bass served as a panelist in a breakout session for the conference: Bringing Together the Data That Matters – Supporting Communities Nationwide to Help Navigate Change. Bass was selected for the panel due to her work with MHC and MHC’s success on aggregating information from disparate sources, providing MHC Participants with one consolidated health record.

Bass was also recognized at the SHIEC Conference for her outstanding leadership. Bass’ exemplary leadership abilities have propelled MHC to new heights and has expanded MHC to not only be the statewide HIE but a multi-state health information exchange (HIE) serving the people of Missouri and its eight border states through connections with hospitals, providers, FQHCs, health plans and other HIEs.
The journey for MHC has not been an easy one but MHC continues to grow and develop new services for their Participants. With Bass’ direction, MHC is the second largest HIE in the nation with more than 13 million unique records in the MHC network and continually expanding services and the MHC Network.
